Toyota Logistics Services and Maines Paper & Food Service, two clients of Two Fleet Advantage, finished in the top 10 of U.S. Fleets for their efficiency practices at the Fleet Technology Expo.
The Heavy Duty Fleet Efficiency Award was presented to Toyota Logistics Services, which placed third and Maines Paper & Food Service, which placed in the top 10. Finalists were chosen from among hundreds of nominations based on their commitment to fleet efficiency and professionalism.
Early in 2014, Toyota, led by safety and compliance manager Kirk Welch worked with Fleet Advantage to replace its entire fleet of car haulers with clean diesel equipment. Toyota opted for a three to five year vehicle lifecycle over its former seven year lifecycle.
“Corporate social responsibility is extremely important to Toyota and is in accordance with Toyota’s Earth Charter Policy to promote environmental initiatives while seeking partners to reduce our carbon footprint,” said Welch. “Fleet Advantage helped Toyota to leverage data analytics, variance analysis and new technology to reduce our emissions and improve fuel economy.”
Maine’s Paper & Food Service, Inc. embraced the philosophy of lifecycle cost management and began their fleet modernization program in 2011. Maines has incorporated technologies to conserve fuel and reduce its CO2 emissions and has since updated its entire fleet to clean diesel equipment.
