Verdant Commercial Capital has promoted Joel Zeller to vice president of Capital Markets. Zeller, who joined the company in 2020, previously served as manager of the Capital Markets Team for over four years.
Zeller’s promotion is part of strategic realignment within the Capital Markets Team, aimed at optimizing efficiency and aligning expertise with key initiatives. With oversight of all Capital Markets functions consolidated under Zeller, the team is positioned for even greater cohesion and effectiveness.
“Joel has been an integral part of our success, and his leadership will further strengthen our capabilities as we continue to grow in the Capital Markets space,” John Merritt, executive vice president of Verdant Commercial Capital, said. “His industry knowledge and relationship-building skills make him an ideal fit as Vice President of Capital Markets. We’re excited for what’s ahead under Joel’s guidance.”
Verdant plans to expand its Capital Markets offerings with the opening of a portfolio Buy Desk focused on vendor captives.
Zeller joined Verdant in 2020 and served as syndication manager throughout his tenure. Before that, he had over 10 years of experience in the equipment finance industry with an emphasis on credit and syndications. Zeller spent the first decade of his career in banking, most notably in the Bank of Montreal’s Commercial & Industrial Group.
As Verdant’s vice president of Capital Markets, Zeller plans to further strengthen the team’s relationship-building capabilities.
“Taking the lead in this group is an exciting opportunity. We already have great relationships in the industry, but I see ample opportunity to deepen those relationships and expand our presence with new partnerships,” Zeller said. “We have a lot to offer the market through our programmatic vendor relationships. I hope to maximize the talents of our dynamic team to create more opportunities for our partners and widen our footprint in the vendor space.”
