Volvo Financial Services Appoints Ribeiro South America Region President

Volvo Financial Services appointed Carlos Ribeiro president of the company’s South America region. Ribeiro will take up the position on July 1 and will be responsible for developing relationships with and supporting customers, dealers and other business partners in Brazil, Chile and Peru. Ribeiro will be based in Curitiba, Brazil, and will report to Marcio Pedroso, president of VFS. He will be a member of the VFS executive management team.

Ribeiro has more than 25 years of experience in various senior management positions in financial services. He worked most recently as president of Banco Komatsu in São Paulo, Brazil. Ribeiro has also held roles as CFO and COO for Gulf Bank and CEO and regional vice president for GMAC Financial Services. During his international career, Carlos has lived and worked in the UK, the U.S., Kuwait, Australia, Argentina and Brazil.

“We are very pleased to have Carlos join the VFS team,” Pedroso said. “His extensive high-level experience of our industries and of captive finance — learned internationally — will be a tremendous asset in furthering VFS’ expansion in South America.”
