Teshia Levy-Grant has joined Webster Bank as senior vice president, diversity and inclusion officer, reporting to Bernard Garrigues, executive vice president, chief human resources officer.
In her new role, she will be responsible for long-term planning and execution of programs aimed at promoting a diverse workforce and fostering an open and inclusive work environment. She also will lead the bank’s Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Council and work to expand its network of employee resource groups, such as the Webster Women’s Initiative Network (WeWIN).
In addition to leading Webster’s efforts internally, Levy-Grant will be responsible for expanding the bank’s diversity programs and partnerships within the communities it serves, as well as at colleges and universities.
Levy-Grant comes to Webster from Wesleyan University, where she was dean for equity and inclusion since 2016. In that role, she developed and implemented university-wide, multicultural programs and educational access opportunities.
“Providing a diverse and inclusive environment is a key priority at Webster,” said Garrigues, adding, “We look forward to working with Teshia to help us advance our D&I efforts across the organization.”
Levy-Grant has served as anti-bias and diversity education program facilitator for the Anti-Defamation League of Connecticut, working with education administrators on policies and procedures regarding issues of inclusion and diversity.
