Trial Set for Wife, Son of Former LeNature's CEO

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that the wife and son of the convicted former CEO of LeNature’s Inc. are scheduled to stand trial on October 11 on federal charges that they helped him launder money defrauded from the beverage company’s investors.

The article reports that Gregory Podlucky pleaded guilty in June to charges in three different cases, including the money laundering conspiracy with his wife, Karla Podlucky and son G. Jesse Podlucky. Gregory Podlucky’s sentencing is scheduled for October 20.

As previously posted on monitordaily, the LeNature’s scheme siphoned hundreds of millions of dollars from a host of financial institutions and it completed, with Wachovia Bank as lead lender, a financing package including a $20 million revolving credit agreement and a $265 million term loan. LeNature’s was forced into bankruptcy in 2006 amid allegation of wrongdoing by its principals.
