Vickie Elliker, CNH Industrial Capital

Vickie Elliker
Director, Leasing and Asset Remarketing
CNH Industrial Capital

Naturally curious and a lifelong learner at heart, Vickie Elliker is a prime example of the benefits companies can reap when they invest in homegrown talent. She joined CNH Industrial Capital as part of the company’s rotational development program as a floorplan auditor before moving to other departments, including compliance, retail credit underwriting and commercial lending, where she gained both company and industry knowledge. While these unique vantage points have helped her achieve the balanced perspective she brings to her current senior leadership role as director of leasing and asset remarketing, they have also built a solid foundation of cross-functional relationships, making her highly approachable throughout the organization.

In her current role, Elliker works hard to maintain historically low remarketing inventory while achieving top-of-market recoveries. She has also capitalized on current market conditions to lead efforts to develop, implement and launch customer-focused initiatives to foster education and drive loyalty. Most notably, these efforts have included aligning every aspect of leasing and remarketing within one team, offering a comprehensive end-to-end view, starting with lease design through wear-and-tear collections.

Elliker attributes much of her success to being open to new opportunities, including lateral moves, and a willingness to step out beyond her comfort zone. This is most certainly true in her current role. Although she never considered herself a salesperson, Elliker eagerly accepted the opportunity almost five years ago to lead the asset remarketing group, which has led to some unexpected surprises. In addition, running an e-commerce site, negotiating deals and improving used OEM values were not only new challenges for her, but the role uncovered a new passion for the equipment finance industry that she never anticipated.

Elliker’s commitment to formal and informal mentorship, as well as leading by example, are additional aspects of leadership about which she is passionate. Her goal is to demonstrate that anyone within any organization can rise as far as their determination will get them, a belief she holds so dear because she truly embodies it. Furthermore, Elliker says leadership can come from anyone and anywhere and that absorbing lessons at all levels is as important to success as prestigious accomplishments.

“The best chance of having your voice heard in any room is to be prepared and well-informed,” Vickie says. “There will always be people who attempt to talk the most or are the loudest in the room, but when you add value to the conversation, that’s what speaks volumes.”

“What sets Vickie apart and serves as a tremendous strength is her commitment to customer-first initiatives that, in many ways, are improving the industry from the ground up,” Douglas MacLeod, president at CNH Industrial Capital in North America, says. “After she aligned every aspect of leasing and remarketing within one team, we are in a better position to anticipate customer needs and avoid missed expectations. As a result, customers have an improved understanding of the lease process, emerging better educated and more confident.”
