Orion First recently facilitated its annual Small Business Lending Forum at the JW Marriot Desert Ridge Resort in Phoenix. Orion First has been facilitating these two-day events for more than 20 years. Each event features relevant and forward-thinking breakout sessions.
This year’s keynote speaker was filmmaker, photographer and mountain climber Mikey Schaefer (Orion First CEO Dave Schaefer’s son). Mikey Schaefer shared his experience filming Free Solo, an Oscar- and Emmy-winning rock-climbing documentary that emphasizes the importance of preparation, partnerships and trust. Mickey Schaefer spoke directly about how extreme risks are normalized and mitigated when athletes partner with individuals who are trusted and knowledgeable, a concept that is easily transferable to the commercial equipment finance and leasing industry in 2023.
