United Rentals Inc., the world’s largest equipment rental company, has been named one of the 250 Best-Managed Companies in the United States by the Wall Street Journal.
The annual list, developed by the Drucker Institute, assesses publicly traded U.S. companies using 35 performance indicators across areas including customer satisfaction, employee engagement, innovation, and financial strength.
A new feature of this year’s analysis included a “digital positioning score,” which measured a company’s presence in online search, website traffic, social media, and app activity relative to industry peers.
“This recognition as an industry leader is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our team,” said Matthew Flannery, president and CEO of United Rentals, in a statement.
United Rentals, based in Stamford, operates more than 1,600 rental locations across North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The company employs nearly 28,000 people and serves a range of customers from construction firms to municipalities.
The Management Top 250 has been published annually since 2017.
