DriveItAway Launches Lease Alternative for Small Fleets Through Fleet-Connection Partnership

DriveItAway Holdings, Inc. has launched a new lease program designed for small commercial fleets and partnered with Fleet-Connection to promote it.

The “DriveItAway Business Preferred” program offers a flexible lease subscription that allows small business owners to access SUVs, trucks or vans without long-term contracts, high upfront costs or stringent credit requirements. The company says the offering is tailored to the estimated 12–15 million locally owned businesses that may struggle to acquire vehicles through traditional financing channels.

To expand its reach, DriveItAway has partnered with Fleet-Connection, led by industry veteran Sherb Brown, former president of Bobit Business Media and group publisher of publications such as Work Truck and Heavy Duty Trucking. Brown’s firm specializes in marketing to smaller fleet operators often overlooked by larger providers.

“One of the stumbling blocks for a new or small business in acquiring vehicles is credit requirements from banks and manufacturer finance companies,” said John F. Possumato, founder and CEO of DriveItAway. “Many businesses also need work vehicles for only part of the year. Our open-ended, no-obligation lease offers the perfect alternative.”

Brown echoed the sentiment, noting that many small businesses have access to the vehicles they need but not the financing options. “This is the niche that DriveItAway’s Business Preferred program fits, and we’re excited to work with John and his team to add visibility,” he said.

The move aligns with DriveItAway’s 2025 goals, including expanding into small commercial fleet sales and forming strong industry partnerships. Earlier this year, the company also increased its vehicle credit line and appointed Menachem Light as chair of its new board of advisors.

Possumato will speak about the initiative at several industry events in April, including the Auto Intel Summit in Cary, North Carolina; the National Vehicle Leasing Association Annual Conference in Clearwater, Florida; and the International Car Rental Show in Las Vegas.
