Atlantic Union Bankshares Corp. has appointed Bradley S. Haun as chief risk officer for the company and its banking subsidiary, Atlantic Union Bank.
Haun will succeed Sherry Williams, who plans to retire on July 1, 2025. Until then, Williams will continue to serve in an advisory role.
Haun joined Atlantic Union in 2011 and most recently served as executive vice president and chief audit executive. A Virginia Tech graduate, he began his career with Cherry Bekaert in its audit practice. He has also held roles as director of financial reporting and accounting policy, and later as corporate controller. He became chief audit executive in 2021.
“Brad brings experience and proven leadership to this important role,” said John Asbury, chief executive officer. “He has built highly engaged teams at every stop, and we’re looking forward to his leadership over our risk functions.”
Asbury also praised Williams for her work developing the company’s enterprise risk program and thanked her for her contributions.
