Shari Lipski, Principal at ECS Financial Services, believes that real mentoring is about fostering confidence and helping people believe in themselves. Rather than focusing on creating leaders, she aims to mentor “future mentors,” standing beside her mentees to offer unbiased advice and a listening ear. As she says, “People rarely fail because they cannot do something — they fail because they are afraid. A mentor’s job is to replace fear with confidence.”
She finds it incredibly fulfilling to watch someone become more self-assured and grateful. Her mentorship approach was instrumental in helping one mentee successfully launch his own company. This commitment to helping others find their footing and believe in themselves makes her an impactful guide within the equipment finance industry.
