
As a Certified Public Accountant, Shelby Chase has built her career at the intersection of public accounting, corporate finance and operational leadership, earning a reputation for delivering transformative results in complex, high-growth environments. Her ability to translate complex financial and operational concepts into clear, actionable strategies has made her a trusted voice within Gordon Brothers’ senior leadership team and across the industry.
Chase began her career at Ernst & Young, where she honed her skills in accounting, compliance and client service. She transitioned into the equipment finance sector at Hancock Whitney Bank, where she took on the role of Operations Manager and led the implementation of a full-scale lease accounting system. Her career trajectory continued upward as Financial Controller at Crossroads Equipment Lease and Finance. There, she managed the month-end close process, issued financial statements, oversaw creditor and investor relations and played a crucial role in the company’s first securitization.
At Signature Financial, Chase served as Vice President of Accounting and Operations. In this role, she developed scalable structures, implemented standardized processes and enhanced performance to facilitate sustainable growth. These experiences built on her skills in bringing clarity to complexity and leading teams through transformation. She is particularly proud of her consistent ability to step into developmental roles and exceed expectations by building operational frameworks from the ground up, leading cross-functional teams and driving measurable performance improvements. Chase’s leadership has consistently proven to result in more efficient organizations that are set up for long-term success.

Today at Gordon Brothers, Chase continues to deliver a strong impact and strategic leadership. In the past year, she played a pivotal role in the successful launch of a new lending application designed specifically for the company’s equipment finance business. At the same time, she has managed all aspects of finance and accounting for the new business at Gordon Brothers while handling lender relations. Gordon Brothers has greatly benefited from Chase’s leadership, as she is able to leverage her experience with securitizations and a strong understanding of the complex financing structures of private credit. These efforts have helped propel the team at Gordon Brothers into launching its new mid-ticket equipment finance offering at the firm.
Currently, Chase is leading efforts on the inaugural securitization for Gordon Brothers’ equipment finance platform, utilizing her prior experience to position the business for long-term growth and success. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated that operational excellence and strategic innovation can coexist to drive profitability and positive change, making her one of the industry’s most respected and forward-looking leaders.
