Kalah Sprabeary exemplifies how purpose-driven leadership can transform both business and community. As Owner and CEO of HUB Funding Solutions, she merges deep entrepreneurial roots with an educator’s mindset to redefine what success means in the equipment finance industry. Her work bridges financial innovation with human connection, helping clients not only access capital but also understand how to leverage it for sustainable growth.
Sprabeary’s multifaceted background is a cornerstone of her success. Before establishing herself in finance, she built hands-on experience as a business owner in oil and gas, real estate and agriculture, giving her firsthand understanding of the operational challenges small business owners face. “Those early days showed me finance goes way beyond the numbers — it’s really about giving businesses the tools to succeed,” she reflects. That perspective has shaped her holistic approach to financing, grounded in empathy, education and a deep respect for the entrepreneurial journey.
Her leadership shone most profoundly during the COVID-19 pandemic. At a time when small businesses faced unprecedented hardship, Sprabeary and her four-person team processed more than 600 Paycheck Protection Program applications, protecting nearly 10,000 jobs. They established a 24-hour support line to guide hundreds of business owners through confusion and crisis, offering clarity and compassion when it was needed most. “It completely reshaped why I do this — being that crucial support in someone’s darkest hour,” she says. This moment solidified her reputation as a leader who pairs decisive action with genuine care, demonstrating how equipment finance can serve as a stabilizing force for communities.
As President of the American Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (AACFB), Sprabeary has championed modernization, inclusivity and professional growth. Under her leadership, the association has expanded educational programming, updated curriculum to include technology-driven topics and fostered an environment that welcomes diverse perspectives. Her strategic vision has strengthened collaboration across brokers and funders, positioning the organization as a leader in adapting to an evolving financial landscape.
“Kalah has really stepped up on the AACFB board and committees, helping it adapt and expand in these shifting times,” says Laura Estrada Simpson from Preferred Capital Funding. “Her innovative take on education has helped brokers and our key funding partners alike — she’s truly a gem in our field.”
Beyond the office, Sprabeary’s impact continues through active community service. She volunteers with 4-H and agriculture programs, youth sports, Southcrest Church, the United Way and Feeding Texas. Her dedication to giving back underscores her belief that leadership is a daily practice of service, not just a title. Whether mentoring peers or guiding clients, she embodies a philosophy anchored in faith, education and perseverance, summed up by her guiding principle: “Keep Moving Forward.”
Her peers recognize her as an innovative force and a steadfast advocate for progress in the industry. Through mentorship and advocacy, she helps others navigate challenges, uncover opportunities and lead with authenticity and courage.
“In business and in life, your influence comes from how you serve others. Success isn’t just about numbers — it’s about helping people rise, grow and believe they can achieve more than they thought possible. That’s what drives me every day — to love God, love people and keep moving forward.”
