Our client is a leading independent equipment leasing and  finance company delivering customized, collateral-based lending solutions to businesses nationwide. As they continue their rapid growth trajectory they are seeking an accomplished General Counsel to serve as their chief legal strategist, trusted advisor to the CEO and Board, and architect of a world-class legal and compliance function.

What You’ll Do

As General Counsel, you’ll have a seat at the executive table and play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s future. You’ll:

✔ Serve as the principal legal advisor to executive leadership and the Board
✔ Lead litigation, workouts, restructurings, bankruptcy matters, and enforcement actions
✔ Negotiate and structure complex commercial finance transactions
✔ Guide regulatory compliance across lending, equipment finance, SaaS, insurance, and related businesses
✔ Support M&A initiatives, capital raises, warehouse facilities, and strategic partnerships
✔ Build scalable governance, compliance, and risk-management frameworks
✔ Partner with Credit, Special Assets, HR, and Operations teams to drive business success
✔ Reduce legal risk while accelerating deal execution and growth

What They’re Looking For

Qualified candidates will bring:

• 10+ years of overall legal experience
• 5+ years serving as lead corporate counsel
• Strong experience in commercial finance, equipment leasing, banking, private credit, or related sectors
• Expertise in litigation management, workouts, restructurings, and creditor remedies
• Experience supporting large balance-sheet businesses and regulated financial services organizations
• Executive presence with the ability to advise CEOs, Boards, and senior leadership teams
• A practical, business-minded approach to legal problem-solving
• The confidence to help the business move forward safely and strategically—not simply identify obstacles
