“I believe true leadership is demonstrated through consistent action, not authority. Leading by example is essential to building trust, fostering accountability and creating the long-term relationships that successful teams are built on. When leaders model the standards they expect, teams are more engaged, aligned and driven to succeed together.”
Michael McElroy’s entry into equipment finance was somewhat an accident that turned into a career defined by agility and relationship-building. Initially seeking a credit analyst role to utilize his economics degree, a pivotal conversation with a sales representative early in the interview process redirected his path. Today, as the Director of OEM Partnerships at Oakmont Capital Services, McElroy appreciates the fast-moving and dynamic nature of the industry.
Over the past year, McElroy has focused on building and strengthening his professional network. For him, the most significant achievement isn’t a single transaction, but the depth of the trust-based, long-term relationships he has cultivated internally and across the industries Oakmont serves. His approach to problem-solving stems from understanding people involved just as well as the numbers on the page and approaching hurdles with a relationship-first mindset.
McElroy describes his leadership style as collaborative, accountable, and decisive. He is a firm believer in leading by example and strategically positioning his colleagues for success. By ensuring expectations are clear and providing support, he empowers his team to perform at a high level, knowing he is equally accountable for the results.
