George A. Parker, co-CEO of VenSource Capital and president of the Black Equipment Finance Network (BEFN), has worked alongside an extraordinary group of industry professionals to create stronger pathways into equipment finance, particularly for students and professionals from historically underrepresented communities. Those efforts include scholarships for students at historically Black colleges and universities, mentoring and career development initiatives, and practical resources designed to introduce emerging talent to the industry and help them build successful careers.
“Real inclusion exists when talented people are not merely invited into the room, but are welcomed, heard, supported and given a genuine opportunity to contribute, advance and lead,” Parker says.
Parker doesn’t measure progress by participation or good intentions, but by outcomes — whether people from historically underrepresented groups are entering the industry, staying in it and advancing into leadership.
