Fleet Advantage, an innovator in specialty financing, fleet data analytics, fleet management services and life cycle cost management, unveiled its newest Safety Index data resource: Truck Reliability and Usage Safety Tracker (TRUST). The new Safety Index, which was previewed by private fleet executives at the recent National Private Truck Council (NPTC) Annual Conference and Exhibition, is designed to give organizations with transportation fleets a way to benchmark their safety scores, and it details fleet-specific KPIs to help organizations improve operations and elevate their overall CSA (compliance, safety, accountability) scores.
The new TRUST Safety Index provides comparative BASIC (behavior analysis and safety improvement categories) scores, enabling organizations to measure their safety performance against both industry averages and across various peer groups. The data set includes scoring based on inspections, violations and peer group analysis.
Key features of the TRUST Safety Index include:
- Comparative BASIC Scores
- Inspection and Violation Analytics
- Crash and Accident Monitoring
- Out-of-Service and Maintenance Tracking
The initial Safety Index highlights that the top 20 private fleets currently outperform industry averages. However, the benchmarking tool is designed for fleets of all sizes and types (private and for-hire carriers). Future versions of the TRUST Index report are expected to also highlight and emphasize key benchmarking data and comparative traits for different vertical industries, fleet types and company sizes.
“Data analytics and predictive modeling are now significant for improving CSA scores, allowing organizations with fleets to proactively identify risk patterns and address potential issues before they become violations,” Katerina Jones, chief marketing officer for Fleet Advantage, said. “However, the real impact comes when these insights are paired with asset management partners, who provide the technology and expertise to monitor fleet health, maintain compliance and tackle the root causes of common violations—like tire maintenance and hours of service. By combining advanced data analysis with proactive asset management, organizations can shift from a reactive to a preventative approach, driving continuous safety improvements and operational excellence across their fleets.”
