Kathleen “Kathy” Berryman, Managing Director of Sponsor Coverage at Ansley Park Capital, has spent nearly three decades shaping the equipment finance industry. Her career reflects both executional excellence and an enduring commitment to people — building platforms, closing complex transactions and nurturing the high-performing teams that power them.

Berryman began her career helping scale Bay4/GE Technology Finance (GECC) before being acquired by Wells Fargo Equipment Finance (WFEF), where she spent more than 20 years. At WFEF, she became a trusted leader across operations, credit and client service, overseeing countless complex deals and guiding colleagues through periods of transformation. She credits her success not only to execution but to the extraordinary leaders and professionals she worked with, emphasizing the often-unsung contributions of teams behind the scenes.

Leaving WFEF after two decades was no small leap, but Berryman embraced the challenge of joining Ansley Park Capital, a rapidly growing platform she describes as “phenomenal, relentlessly excellent and united by integrity.” She credits this to Eric Miller, CEO of Ansley Park Capital and a long-time mentor and friend. Energized by this, she has quickly contributed to sourcing and structuring capital-intensive projects for large and middle-market companies, law firms, private equity sponsors and portfolio companies. Within months, she established herself as a trusted advocate within Ares Management’s lender and sponsor ecosystem, further cementing the firm’s reputation as the go-to partner for mission-critical transactions.

Berryman’s approach is distinguished by her belief that leadership is not about title — it is about mentorship, influence and relationships. She has redefined what it means to lead without formal authority, earning a reputation as the first call for strategic, high value initiatives. Clients praise her deep knowledge, attention to detail and collaborative style, noting her role in elevating industry standards.

Her professional mission extends beyond transactions. She is driven to show her children — and the next generation of professionals — that success comes from showing up with enthusiasm, persistence and authenticity. She hopes her legacy will be to transform equipment financing by demonstrating that results and relationships are inseparable, and that mentorship and influence often leave the deepest impact.

Berryman also embraces her role as an industry thought leader and advocate for women in finance. She shares guiding philosophies that highlight gratitude, kindness and resilience, reminding peers to “care fiercely for your clients and teams” and “be more interested than interesting.” Her perspective blends fierce execution with humanity, inspiring colleagues to excel while staying grounded.

Respected by peers and clients alike, Berryman has been instrumental to companies such as Warner Bros. Discovery, where a C-Suite Leader credited her “leasing expertise driving record results in cash flow and lease management.” William J. Mayer, former EVP and Group Head of WFEF, now Executive Managing Director at Tiger Group, worked with Berryman for eight years and praises her expertise and drive. “Kathy’s impact was measurable in results, but equally powerful in the trust and confidence she inspired across colleagues, clients and partners.”

Whether structuring multimillion-dollar deals or mentoring rising professionals, Berryman’s influence continues to elevate both the organizations she serves and the broader equipment finance industry.

Berryman’s philosophy and advice include several guiding beliefs: “Build your own Board of Directors. Advocate boldly and honor your authentic self. Live alongside gratitude — don’t forget to say ‘Thank you’ and mean it. Uplift, encourage and be kind to women everywhere, always.”
