Through her tireless commitment to innovation and finding dynamic solutions to ever-shifting programs, Angie Burg has established herself not only as a leader in the equipment finance space but also as a core component of Stearns Bank’s success. Opting to lead by example, Burg has fostered teams of driven self-starters, analytical thinkers and people who find themselves asking “why.”

Burg began her career in banking at Stearns Bank shortly after graduating from college, developing a diverse skill set by working in various departments. She then left the firm to work in commercial construction, but she knew that her heart was in banking, returning to Stearns Bank in 2018 and beginning her journey in equipment finance as the Lease Operations Supervisor. In 2021, Burg earned the title of Sr. Manager EFD, Finance, Operations and Post-Close, allowing her to put her varied knowledge of equipment finance and the financial sector to the test.

Burg’s knowledge, along with her enthusiasm for mentoring and encouraging others, clinched her the distinction of Stearns Bank Outstanding Performer. Her direction and leadership style foster cross-departmental collaboration, offering authentic guidance to her peers and ensuring that her teammates achieve the goals they set for themselves.

“Angie is a unique and valuable member of our industry, embodying a powerful combination of skills and attributes that drive results and inspire those around her,” says Melissa Becker, Executive Business Officer at Stearns Bank. “She is an exceptional problem solver with a proactive work ethic that takes challenges on and drives toward solutions from the start.”

Burg believes that the most important elements to finding success in every challenge a professional may face are accountability, ownership and taking initiative whenever opportunities arise. These same values permeate every interaction she has with her coworkers, colleagues and clientele, ensuring everyone can get the job done no matter the limit.

Burg also believes that, to be successful, a professional needs to have 100% faith in their own abilities and ideas, even when faced with great challenges and trials. Taking ownership and responsibility for your actions at every turn not only positions professionals to be successful but also inspires their colleagues and clients to follow in their footsteps and be more cognizant of their own abilities.

Another major component of Burg’s success is her sense of experimentation and being unafraid of exploring every avenue to find the best possible outcome for her team. She regularly oversees the testing and adoption of new software and services, insulating the organization from regular accounting and auditing issues that would otherwise prove hazardous to the growth of the firm.

With her dedication to fostering positive environments, diligent collaboration and inclusive approach to leadership and teamwork, Burg has proven herself time and time again to be capable of rising to any challenge and navigating Stearns Bank through all manner of disruptions, all while taking her team with her.

“Pursue your dreams with tenacity and don’t be afraid to be a trailblazer. Have 100% belief in yourself and your abilities, even when challenges arise. When you exemplify ownership, accountability and initiative, you not only achieve your own goals, but you also inspire others and prove what’s possible with determination.”
