Associate General Counsel – Equipment Finance

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Summit Funding Group, Inc., an equipment finance company and subsidiary of First Financial Bank, is seeking to expand its legal team with the addition of a full-time Associate Counsel, reporting to the General Counsel. The ideal candidate will have experience in corporate and commercial law, with strong skills in drafting and negotiating contracts, managing lease enforcement matters, and advising on compliance and regulatory issues. The individual must be a quick learner, detail-oriented, and committed to providing practical, business-focused legal support in a collaborative environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

• J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law.
• 2–4 years’ relevant firm or in-house experience in commercial or transactional law.
• Strong drafting, review, and negotiation skills across a wide range of contracts.
• Ability to provide legal guidance in areas including collections, HR, compliance, and lease enforcement (including bankruptcy and recovery efforts).
• Knowledge of UCC, titling, and equipment finance law strongly preferred.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Positive, detail-oriented, and flexible with a strong ability to build collaborative relationships with business partners.
• Prior experience in equipment finance is a strong plus, but not required.
