Matt Grimes joined PNC Business Credit as head of originations for the Pacific Southwest region. Based in Los Angeles, he leads sponsor and advisor coverage across Southern California, Arizona and Southern Nevada and works closely with partners across PNC Bank to drive growth opportunities with direct borrowers.
Grimes brings more than 20 years of experience in commercial finance, private credit, cash flow, asset-based lending and special situations. Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership roles spanning business development, portfolio management, direct lending and credit risk management, as well as regional and national origination leadership positions.
Prior to joining PNC, Grimes built an extensive network across private equity firms, investment banks, direct lenders, regional banks and restructuring advisors. He earned his CPA while at PricewaterhouseCoopers and holds an MBA from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
