Ian Maccubbin joined Ares Commercial Finance’s business development and underwriting teams as a principal. Maccubbin will be based in Boston and will assist in covering the Northeast market, where he will have cross-functional business development and underwriting responsibilities. In his new role, he will work to support the existing ABL platform as well as its product suite, including first lien, split lien, FILO and second lien transactions.
Maccubbin joined Ares Commercial Finance with 18 years of experience in the financial industry, most recently as a principal on the Carlyle Group’s private credit team. In that role, he worked to build out an asset-based and asset-backed strategy within direct lending. Prior to that, he was a vice president at PNC Financial Services Group on the retail finance vertical team in a full utility position.
