Amber Olmsted is an experienced risk professional who has spent the last 26 years gaining knowledge across multiple continents and industries. Olmsted has spent most of her career finding risk solutions in emerging markets throughout Africa, Europe and South America in the information technology space. During this time, Olmsted has found a passion for risk, understanding the art of providing finance solutions in difficult markets and the enriching and fulfilling effect it can have in communities.

Olmsted’s career growth moved her from South Africa to Houston in 2016. This move ultimately led Olmsted to her current position at Mahindra Finance. Being a woman in the agriculture equipment finance industry is something Olmsted relishes. She enjoys the challenge of changing the perception of women in this particular field in which she engages with an open mind conducive to understanding the needs and drivers of all stakeholders while pushing for the most beneficial outcomes. Olmsted has built an exceptional team by mentoring and coaching thoughtfully, giving back and investing time to grow and support her team, where open dialogue matters and is valued. Building this trust and collaboration is something close to Olmsted’s heart and will be the legacy she leaves behind. Olmsted believes that she is only as good as the team around her and that each team member provides a unique contribution. Being in the agricultural industry lends itself to the need for thoughtful decision making that impacts people at a root level. This knowledge is what drives Olmsted every day, as making a difference in someone’s life, no matter how big or small, is a win.
