Marci L. Slagle, CLFP,
President, Equipment Finance,
BankFinancial

As president of BankFinancial Equipment Leasing, Marci Slagle brings a tireless commitment to inclusivity and innovation to the equipment finance industry, fuses close working relationships with individual companies and focuses on timely execution.

VISION FOR THE FUTURE:

“I am very passionate about equality and inclusion. As a mother of four, I strive for, and envision, a level playing field where a person’s career, experience and opportunities are based on knowledge, hard work and experience. Today, as I see more and more women in leadership roles, I am incredibly grateful [to] have had the opportunity to offer influence in this industry [and] to have helped make this possible.”

Slagle prides herself on growing BankFinancial’s footprint in the equipment finance market. With more than 25 years of experience in the equipment leasing industry, she currently leads a national team of highly experienced equipment finance professionals managing more than $500 million in total lease and credit exposures.

Over the past 16 months — and in the midst of a global pandemic — Slagle established a new middle-market equipment finance department, coordinated the implementation of a small-ticket equipment finance department with BankFinancial executive vice president Stephanie Hall and increased BankFinancial’s market presence with independent lessors by more than 50%.

Slagle began her career with Amembal Capital, where she was the driving force in the implementation and expansion of the third-party originator buy desk. She then held a position at Tetra Financial Group helping to promote and expand its third-party buy desk. In 2008, Slagle joined VFI Corporate Finance to launch its third-party finance desk. In 2017, she took a position with SQN Capital Management to assist in bringing its funds to the U.S. market in the third-party arena. Later, she became vice president of originations at 36th Street Capital.

Slagle’s passion for uplifting youth, particularly women, has led her to become actively involved in industry organizations. As a dedicated Certified Lease & Finance Professional, she has served on the CLFP Foundation board as a past president and on the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association’s Middle-Market Steering Committee. Presently, Slagle serves on the ELFA Women’s Council and is a member of the ELFA’s Bank Steering and Membership committees.

“Marci’s career is a success story at every step, and every step required growth in knowledge, solutions development and personal dedication to the success of her employer and her industry partners, all while being an active member of industry leadership and helping to raise a big, happy family,” Morgan Gasior, chairman at BankFinancial, says. “If you want an example of professional and personal success for a young person to follow, follow Marci.”
