Senior Loan Accountant

Our client, a fast-growing and leading independent equipment finance company has engaged Molloy Associates to source a  Senior Loan Accountant with experience in lending, leasing, or financial services portfolios. The Senior Loan Accountant is responsible for contract-level accounting and portfolio oversight, partnering with accounting leadership and internal stakeholders to maintain strong controls and ensure reliable financial data.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Maintain and enhance loan accounting processes to ensure accurate, timely, and reliable contract-level data, including modifications and terminations
• Board new contracts, modifications, renewals, refinances, and extensions
• Maintain accurate data within Aspire and troubleshoot issues
• Oversee daily cash receipt postings and reconciliations
• Perform daily, monthly, and quarterly reconciliations for contract servicing accounts; manage contracts serviced for others including accurate cash segregation, remittances, and delinquency reporting
• Maintain the Book Value Report in Aspire and ensure accurate and current contract-level data for internal reporting
• Partner with Controller to ensure contract-level accounting is captured for all revenue items along with key expense items (direct costs)
• Prepare and review reports, analyze portfolio data, and resolve delinquencies and exceptions
• Act as a subject matter expert for internal accounting inquiries
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, regulations, and providing audit support

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience; experience in commercial lending or financial services preferred
• Experience working with loan servicing systems; Aspire experience preferred
• Strong understanding of contract-level accounting, reconciliations, and loan servicing processes
• Personal integrity when working with personal and sensitive financial information
• Understanding of and the ability to adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
