Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC (CSG Law) has launched a dedicated Equipment Leasing & Finance Group, formally separating the practice from its Litigation Group to expand resources and capabilities for clients.
The newly formed group is led by Robert Hornby, who will serve as chair and practice group leader. Hornby has represented national and regional banks, domestic and international captive equipment leasing companies, and alternative lenders across the country.
“The formalization of the Equipment Leasing & Finance Group is an important step for the firm as we continue to refine and expand our practice offerings for clients,” said Marie Mathews, managing member of CSG Law. “We believe this group will continue to grow under the guidance of Robert as chair and practice group leader.”
The team also includes Frank Peretore (of counsel), Cory Simmons (associate) and Christian Martinotti (associate). They work closely with members of the firm’s Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Group, including Sam Della Fera, Scott Zuber, Tom Walsh and Terri Jane Freedman.
“Our team is focused on providing clients with practical and cost-effective legal advice from the inception of the equipment finance transaction through its enforcement,” said Hornby. “The launch of the Equipment Leasing & Finance Group will allow us to continue to expand and streamline the delivery of services to better meet clients’ needs.”
The group advises commercial lenders and equipment lessors on structuring, documenting and enforcing secured transactions and leases. It also counsels clients on compliance issues, including state lender licensing and new state-level truth-in-lending disclosure laws. The team frequently represents secured creditors in state and federal courts in New York and New Jersey.
