M&T Bank has named Charles Pinckney as regional president for the Hudson Valley, expanding his current role as regional president for Albany.
Pinckney takes over following the retirement of Mark Stellwag, who stepped down at the end of 2024.
In his new position, Pinckney will work with leadership across the Hudson Valley, including teams in retail, business, and commercial banking, as well as wealth management, government banking and community engagement.
“Charles is a proven leader with an exceptional track record,” said Mike Keegan, M&T Bank senior executive vice president and head of community banking.
Pinckney joined M&T Bank in 2008 and has held leadership roles in commercial real estate, middle market, healthcare and nonprofit banking.
He is active in community organizations, serving on the boards of the Capital Region Chamber, the Center for Economic Growth, and the Palace Theatre. He also serves as vice chair of the Center for Disability Services and chairs its Commercial Services Division.
Pinckney said he aims to continue M&T’s local approach to banking and build on Stellwag’s work in the region.
M&T Bank operates 40 branches across 20 counties in the Albany and Hudson Valley regions.
M&T is a financial holding company headquartered in Buffalo, New York, with a branch and ATM network spanning the eastern United States.
