Denise Steinberger’s career reflects a rare blend of operational mastery, strategic foresight and people-centered leadership. As Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at North Mill Equipment Finance (NMEF), she has become a driving force behind the company’s continued growth, innovation and collaborative culture. With over two decades of experience spanning finance, operations and team development, Steinberger stands out as a leader who not only builds business but builds people.

Steinberger’s career began in asset management, where she spent 13 years overseeing a large lease and rental portfolio at a national transportation dealership. There, she gained hands-on experience in customer service, risk management and operations — skills that grounded her approach to leadership in both precision and empathy. She later transitioned to operations management at an equipment finance brokerage and directed HR functions at a publicly traded homebuilder, strengthening her understanding of both people and processes. These diverse experiences became the foundation of her holistic leadership style, combining business acumen with a deep respect for human connection.

Since joining NMEF, Steinberger has made a lasting mark on the organization. She was instrumental in establishing the company’s West Coast office, building a cohesive, high-performing team from the ground up. Her operational vision ensured that the new branch not only integrated seamlessly into the company’s structure but also embodied NMEF’s core values of collaboration and service excellence. Later, she expanded her role to oversee post-funding operations, ensuring consistency and quality across multiple business lines — a testament to her adaptability and problem-solving skills.

In her current position as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, Steinberger focuses on cultivating and expanding relationships across NMEF’s partner network. Over the past year, her leadership has strengthened alliances, increased originations and driven measurable growth. By identifying emerging opportunities and fostering mutual trust, she has elevated the company’s reputation as a dependable and forward-thinking partner in equipment finance.

Beyond her corporate achievements, Steinberger actively contributes to the broader equipment finance community. A Certified Lease & Finance Professional (CLFP) and member of the National Equipment Finance Association (NEFA), she participates in conferences, women-in-leasing initiatives and mentorship programs that support professional development and inclusion. She is widely respected for her approachable demeanor and her willingness to guide others through complex challenges, encouraging colleagues to pursue certification and continuous learning.

Her legacy is defined not just by results but by the culture she cultivates. Steinberger believes that true leadership means helping others succeed — creating space for people to grow, contribute and find purpose in their work. As NMEF’s Chief Revenue Officer and President, Mark Bonnano, notes, “What makes Denise so valuable isn’t just her industry expertise — it’s the way she shows up for her people. She leads with compassion and creates space for others to grow along with her. As we continue to grow NMEF, that kind of leadership is vital, as it nurtures both people and culture to scale alongside the business.”

“My advice to women entering this industry is to stay confident in your abilities and never underestimate the value of your voice. Build strong relationships, seek mentors and don’t shy away from challenges outside your comfort zone. Growth comes from pushing boundaries — and your unique perspective is not only valuable, it’s essential.”
