“Leadership is not about being in charge; it’s about taking care of those in your charge.” -Simon Sinek

Among the uncertainty and variables that are consistently in flux, one constant in equipment finance is that clients will inevitably be inquisitive. They may want to learn more about the credit underwriting process or how one firm’s services compare to another from a price-to-value standpoint. Brennen Peever is particularly cognizant of this and has used client questions as his North Star when building out priorities for client service delivery.

Peever employs a client-first leadership style, focusing on being an approachable point of contact for both external and internal parties. This, in turn, allows Peever to receive candid feedback, exchange ideas and brainstorm solutions to Meridian OneCap’s most pressing challenges to their business development. With trust and mutual understanding as the foundation, Peever’s relationships with both his clients and teammates have limitless growth potential.

This perspective has helped Peever adapt to some of the most substantial changes that Meridian OneCap has ever undertaken, including a recent structural upheaval. When Peever began his career at Meridian OneCap, four internal sales teams acted independently, but as Meridian OneCap scaled, these teams were gradually synthesized and consolidated. Through his dedication to the firm’s mission, Peever was able to incorporate the new resource layout into his workflow.

Peever’s journey in client service began on the crediting side at GE Capital before eventually transitioning to sales and business development during his tenure at Meridian OneCap. His appreciation for equipment finance and the role it plays in the broader economy only grew, as did his passion for delivering industry-leading client service to partners across the sector.
