“Leadership is fundamentally about the human connection. Inspired by Miyamoto Musashi’s belief in thinking lightly of oneself and deeply of the world, I lead with integrity and prioritize genuine care for my team, so people feel truly valued. When leadership is rooted in those values performance inevitably follows.”
Evan Day, vice president and head of marketing at BriteCap Financial, initially entered the equipment finance industry unexpectedly. However, what began as a professional role quickly transformed into a deep-seated purpose. As he progressed in his career, Day realized he was uniquely positioned to assist small business owners — the entrepreneurs often overlooked by traditional banking institutions — in securing the capital necessary to sustain and grow their enterprises. For Day, these businesses represent a life’s work, and he takes great pride in supporting the vital role small businesses play in the global economy.
His proudest professional achievement to date is joining the team at BriteCap Financial, a collective he describes as an “all-star” group of industry leaders. This role allows him to operate in an environment where excellence is the standard and mission-driven work is central to the firm’s identity.
In his leadership approach, Day emphasizes the human element above all else. He leverages technology to handle the technical groundwork, ensuring he remains present and prepared for his team. He believes that no AI or digital tool can replace the integrity, trust and genuine care required to build lasting relationships with customers and colleagues.
Regarding the industry’s future, Day maintains that while the workplace is becoming increasingly digital, the core tenets of leadership remain constant. He advocates for fostering talent by encouraging curiosity, valuing fresh perspectives, and leading with strong values, confident that when a leader shows up with integrity, performance and success naturally follow.
