ElmBlue
Equipment Finance
Paul Reny, executive vice president at ElmBlue Equipment Finance, learned early on that equipment finance is both highly competitive and relationship-driven. In the early stages of his career, working in an environment that demanded 70 to 100 cold calls a day, he quickly developed the resilience and discipline required to succeed.
Through his professional journey, Reny came to understand that trust is the industry’s true currency. That realization changed how he approaches leadership and client relationships. Today, Reny focuses on being a consistent, reliable partner who helps clients and equipment dealers make informed decisions that support long-term success.
One of Reny’s proudest accomplishments has been building a scalable, technology-enabled team that grew from four employees to more than 30 without losing the relationship-first culture that defines the business. By prioritizing ownership, accountability and shared purpose, he has attracted top-tier talent while challenging traditional industry approaches.
Reny describes his leadership style as authentic, intentional and empowering. He advises recent graduates to be themselves early, emphasizing that authenticity builds trust faster than any other trait in a relationship-driven business. He cautions that as the workplace becomes more digital, organizations must not sacrifice experience-driven development for efficiency, ensuring future leaders are built through mentorship.
