Leigh Lytle, president and CEO of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA), believes effective advocacy begins with credible information and strong relationships.
“Advocacy is an investment in the future of equipment finance,” Lytle says. “It ensures policymakers understand our industry’s vital role in the economy and weigh our members’ needs when making decisions that shape their ability to compete and grow.”
Lytle points to the tax policy wins secured through the One Big Beautiful Bill as one of her proudest advocacy achievements, including the permanent restoration of EBITDA-based interest deductibility and 100% expensing for equipment purchases nationwide. ELFA has also expanded its research and data capabilities to demonstrate the importance of equipment finance, pairing that data with sustained engagement, member voices and a stronger public media strategy overall.
