Truist Financial Corp. has appointed Claudia Davis Adamson to lead its small business banking division.
Adamson will oversee strategic execution across small business banking operations, including deposit and lending services, payment solutions, analytics, operations, governance and client experience. She will manage services for more than 1.2 million small business clients through platforms such as Small Business Direct, Business Connect, and the bank’s SBA lending program.
She is set to join Truist this summer and will report to Dontá Wilson, chief consumer and small business banking officer. Adamson will also become a member of the Truist Operating Council.

Adamson brings more than two decades of experience in business banking. She most recently served as managing director and U.S. head of business banking at HSBC, where she also held roles in corporate banking, sales intelligence, and employee engagement. Prior to that, she worked in leadership positions at Barclays in London.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and computer science from Converse University and has studied at London Business School.
