U.S. Bank announced an expanded focus on serving manufacturing businesses, offering specialized expertise, tailored financial solutions and dedicated industry support to help companies manage rising costs, workforce challenges and global trade complexity.
The bank has hired an industry specialist for manufacturing, trained relationship managers on the sector’s needs, added foreign exchange specialists, launched educational client events and adopted lending changes tailored to manufacturers, according to a Sept. 8 release.
“Manufacturers are the backbone of the U.S. economy, driving innovation, job creation and economic growth in communities across the country,” said Dee O’Dell, head of business banking sales at U.S. Bank. “By combining industry-specific expertise with a comprehensive suite of banking and financing solutions, we’re helping these businesses build resilience, improve efficiency and position themselves for long-term success.”
The expanded focus targets businesses with up to $50 million in annual revenue. U.S. Bank launched a similar initiative for medical, dental and veterinary practitioners in 2023 and plans additional industry-specific services.
Key components include:
- Specialized training for business banking relationship managers, required since 2025
- Suzanne Widing’s 2026 appointment as business banking industry specialist
- Manufacturing Vendor Services, a division of U.S. Bank Equipment Finance that has provided equipment leases, loans, lines of credit and refinancing for more than 40 years
- Foreign exchange consulting for manufacturers with international operations
- Conventional and SBA lending programs, including recent fee waivers and expanded eligibility
- Educational seminars on fraud prevention and cybersecurity
