Inventory of used lift equipment in the U.S. continued to rise in April, even as prices declined year over year, according to data released by Sandhills Global.
Overall inventory increased 1.65% compared to March and was up 16.19% from a year ago. Among categories, used cushion tire forklifts saw the largest month-over-month jump in availability, climbing 4.82%. The used rough terrain scissor lift segment posted the most significant year-over-year gain, with inventory 34.1% higher than April 2024.
Despite a slight 0.37% monthly uptick, asking values declined 8.16% year over year. The used pneumatic tire forklift category recorded the largest monthly price increase at 4.05%. In contrast, the used rough terrain scissor lift category experienced the steepest year-over-year price drop, down 15.91%.
Auction values remained relatively stable but showed a softening trend, dipping 1.04% from March and 4.9% from the previous year. The cushion tire forklift category led declines in auction values, falling 5.26% month over month and 17.19% year over year.
