“If it scares you and excites you, try it. Then do what scares and excites you, until it doesn’t anymore. Then find something new that scares and excites you, and do it all over again."

Brittany Ogden has established herself as a notable leader in the equipment finance industry, combining a strong background in litigation with an enduring commitment to fostering relationships and contributing to the industry’s growth. Early in her career, Ogden was introduced to the Equipment Leasing Association (now known as the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association, or ELFA) by a mentor who would significantly shape her career trajectory. This introduction was a turning point, leading to her active involvement in industry events, learning from seasoned professionals and developing a network of mentors and friends who would inspire and support her along the way.

A crucial aspect of Ogden’s professional journey has been her extensive litigation experience. As a litigator, she prides herself on her trial work, particularly the jury trials that range from a few days to months in duration. These high-stakes, complex cases have allowed Ogden to hone her skills in working under pressure and delivering excellent results for her clients. For Ogden, the true reward comes from the collaboration required in these cases. “It’s about diving in deep and pushing myself mentally and physically,” Ogden says. “But, most importantly, it’s about the entire team working together for a common goal, with shared stories that last well beyond a verdict.”

Ogden’s dedication to her field is further exemplified by her recent appointment to the Equipment Leasing & Finance Foundation’s board of trustees. “Brittany joined the Equipment Leasing Finance Foundation board of trustees last December and is a frequent contributor in our discussions,” Mark Loken, vice president of CoBank’s regional agribusiness banking group, says. “She has a thoughtful approach and offers opinions and perspectives that are extremely valuable to the board. Brittany is an avid supporter of our industry, and we are fortunate to have her dedication and support.”

This role holds significant meaning for her, as it offers an opportunity to give back to the industry that has shaped her career. “It is an honor and a privilege to sit at the same table with industry leaders,” Ogden says. “For my firm, it’s an opportunity to gain valuable industry perspectives that allow us to provide excellent business insight and client service, while also contributing to the common purpose.”

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ogden is actively involved in several industry associations. In addition to her work with ELFA and the Lease Enforcement Attorney Network, she participates in organizations like the American Bankruptcy Institute, the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation and the American Agricultural Law Association. These affiliations allow her to stay engaged with current industry trends and legal developments while expanding her network and influence.

When asked about her professional mission, Ogden emphasized the importance of understanding and aligning with her clients’ business goals. “I strive to provide the best quality and service to my clients, while truly understanding and appreciating their business objectives,” she says. Her commitment to quality, responsiveness and compassion is evident in every aspect of her work, as she aims to create a legacy that her children can look up to — one of hard work, excellent service and unwavering integrity.

Ogden’s leadership extends beyond her technical expertise. She is an advocate for promoting inclusion, encouraging others to use their voices and leading by example. “It’s not just about being in the room, but being prepared and using your voice,” Ogden says. “Speak the hard truths. Praise great work. Be an advocate. Be positive.” •
