B. Riley Financial entered into a definitive agreement to sell a majority ownership stake in Great American Group to funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management. This change of ownership closed on Nov. 15, 2024, to create Great American Holdings, a privately held, independent firm.
The following business lines make up the new independent company:
- Advisory and Valuation Services: Provides inventory, machinery and equipment and intellectual property appraisals, field exams and valuation and transaction advisory services
- Retail Solutions: Provides disposition services for retail inventories, fixtures and other fixed assets
- Wholesale and Industrial Solutions: Provides auctions, private treaty sales and liquidation services for wholesalers’ and manufacturers’ inventory and machinery and equipment
- Real Estate: Sales and dispositions, lease restructuring, capital solutions and advisory services
