Christopher Isaacs has joined Barnes & Thornburg as a partner in New York, further strengthening the firm’s M&A and private equity teams. He is the fourth partner to join the corporate department this year, following the additions of Neil Begley in New York, Katie Mills in Los Angeles and Ryan Mitchell in Dallas.

Isaacs has extensive experience advising clients on a broad range of complex transactional matters. Drawing on early experience as in-house counsel at a major investment bank, he offers clients a practical, business-focused perspective when navigating strategic transactions. He regularly represents private equity firms and their portfolio companies, asset managers, financial technology and crypto-asset companies, as well as early-stage companies and their investors across a variety of industries.

“Chris is a proven deal lawyer who knows how to get transactions across the finish line efficiently and thoughtfully,” Jahan Sharifi, corporate department chair for the firm, said. “He brings a strong appreciation for the complexities facing heavily regulated clients and delivers practical, business-minded solutions that will add immediate value to our clients.”

Isaacs advises on both domestic and cross-border transactions, including asset and equity deals, and many of the transactions he handles involve complex regulatory considerations, particularly in the financial services sector, where he regularly counsels clients in balancing investor objectives with regulatory obligations.

“Chris’ ability to craft creative solutions that satisfy multiple stakeholders makes him a valuable addition to our growing New York platform,” Robert Boller, managing partner of the firm’s New York office, said. “His experience across private equity, financial services and technology makes him an ideal fit not only in our New York office, but within our entire firm.”

In addition to his work in financial services, Isaacs advises clients in the health care, automotive, energy, retail and broader commercial sectors.

“Barnes & Thornburg’s national platform and collaborative culture make for an exciting opportunity to continue growing my practice,” Isaacs said. “I look forward to working alongside this talented team to help clients execute complex transactions with confidence.”

Isaacs earned his law degree from Brooklyn Law School and his bachelor’s degree from Boston University.
