After a distinguished career spanning more than three decades in the equipment finance industry, Sandy Bernardino, senior vice president, corporate operations, will retire from LEAF Commercial Capital effective June 1, 2026.
Bernardino has been with LEAF since 2012 and has played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s operations department through periods of sustained growth and transformation. Widely respected across the industry, she’s known for her steady leadership, deep expertise and commitment to developing those around her. In 2021, she was named one of Monitor’s Top Women in Equipment Finance, an honor that reflects both her professional accomplishments and the respect she has earned throughout her career.
“Sandy’s impact on LEAF and on the broader equipment finance industry cannot be overstated,” Miles Herman, CEO of LEAF, said. “She has led with integrity, clarity, and an unwavering focus on excellence. Although we’ll miss her day-to-day presence, her retirement is incredibly well deserved and we’re thrilled she’s able to begin this next chapter.”
Prior to LEAF, Bernardino spent 17 years at Canon Financial Services, where she held multiple leadership roles, including director of sales, director of operations, and director of client services. Earlier in her career, she worked in the remarketing department at Tokai Financial Services. Across each organization, she’s earned a reputation as an influential, results‑driven leader who elevates both the organizations and people she works with.
“We are deeply grateful for Sandy’s exceptional leadership, dedication and the lasting legacy she leaves behind,” Miles said. “Knowing her, this next phase will be just as full and rewarding as the career she’s built.”
