Philip Hewes joined FFC, a provider of equipment leasing, asset management and asset remarketing services to a variety of industries, as general counsel. Hewes is an experienced business lawyer and has served as chief legal counsel of global organizations, with proven ability and knowledge to deliver value and to develop partnerships among business, administrative and legal resources and to understand and anticipate the dynamic and complex business and legal issues facing business leadership. He has participated as a partner with Fitzgerald, Franke & Hewes over the past 19 years and has provided legal services to financial, technology and business clients located globally.
Prior to founding the law firm in 2005, Hewes served as chief legal counsel and general counsel for two global organizations. He served as vice president and general counsel for Krone Group, a global company in the design, development and manufacturing of telecommunication cable and connectivity equipment for public access and private enterprise networks. He also served on the board of directors for Krone’s publicly held subsidiary in India.
He served from 1977 to 2001 in a number of positions and capacities, including senior vice president and chief legal officer with Comdisco, a global technology services company with three operating divisions: equipment services, technology services and venture division. Hewes also was a member of the board of directors of Comdisco.
Hewes earned a bachelor of arts from Colorado State University in Fort Collins. Colorado, attaining his juris doctorate from the University of Illinois/Chicago (formerly The John Marshall Law School) and a master of arts from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He is a member of the Illinois Bar. In addition, he has served his community and is affiliated with a number of educational and professional organizations.
