Idle Smart, a technology company helping heavy-duty fleets reduce fuel costs and prevent unplanned downtime, formed a partnership with Transervice Logistics, a fleet management and leasing company. Together, the two companies are deploying Idle Smart’s automatic battery protection technology across Transervice’s fleet to ensure truck batteries stay charged and ready to go.
“No-starts aren’t just expensive, they hurt relationships with our customers and delay getting products to store shelves,” Mark Prusak, assistant vice president of Transervice Logistics, said. “With Idle Smart, I’m confident the batteries are charged and ready to go. Even when drivers are home for their days off, they know their trucks will start when they get back. That kind of reliability is how we provide the level of service our customers expect from us.”
Steve Smith, vice president of sales at Idle Smart, said, “Each jump start event will degrade a battery’s life by 5 to 10%, so the problem compounds if you’re not addressing it at the source. Transervice holds itself to an exceptionally high standard, and so do their customers; that means a dead battery isn’t just an inconvenience, it’s a broken promise. Eliminating the risk of a dead battery automatically, without asking a driver to do anything extra, is exactly how Idle Smart helps Transervice keep their promises.”
