NationaLease appointed Mike Blimling as the next vice president of truck technology and maintenance. Joe Puff, who has served in this capacity since 2014, will assist with Blimling’s transition before he officially retires in May.
In this role, Blimling will be responsible for analyzing member fleet operations, advising on the latest technology, vehicle spec-ing and maintenance best practices. He’ll also be coordinating the annual NationaLease Tech Challenge, consulting with OEMs and partners, and facilitating NationaLease participation at TMCSuperTech and other industry events.
With over 20 years in the industry in a number of roles, Blimling brings a wealth of experience to the table. Prior to joining NationaLease, Blimling served as director of fleet operations at Kriete Leasing and rental and director of fleet analysis at Roadrunner Transportation Systems, originally starting as a service advisor and lube tech at Petro Lube.
“I’m thrilled to be joining NationaLease,” Blimling said. “I can already tell that everyone here is passionate about what they do, and understands how they fit into the overall picture. Joe has done a phenomenal job and I look forward to continuing his legacy of outstanding service and commitment.”
Dean Vicha, president of NationaLease, added, “There’s no denying the tremendous impact Joe Puff has had on NationaLease and we’re certainly going to miss his expertise and leadership. If anyone can fill his shoes, it’s Mike. We’re all excited to have him aboard and know he’s ready to continue strengthening relationships across the network.”
