Aviation Capital Group Promotes Downes to CIO, Nally to Head of Aircraft Trading



Aircraft asset manager Aviation Capital Group promoted Rob Downes to the newly created position of senior vice president and chief investment officer and John Nally to vice president and head of aircraft trading.

Downes was previously head of aircraft trading. In his new role, he will join Aviation Capital Group’s senior leadership team and help design and implement strategic and asset investment activities to drive growth and profitability.

Nally, a member of Aviation Capital Group’s trading team since 2021, will lead the company’s aircraft trading initiatives, spearheading efforts to optimize its asset portfolio and strengthen its position in the global aviation market.

“Rob and John have been key to the execution of ACG’s commercial strategy for the past several years, demonstrating sound understanding of the market, exceptional leadership and solid execution,” Thomas Baker, CEO and president of Aviation Capital Group, said. “Their promotions reflect ACG’s commitment to developing, enabling and advancing talent within our business.
