Air Transport Components (ATC Group), a provider of component maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for the global aerospace industry, acquired Aero Controls, an FAA-certified provider of specialized, precision-engineered component MRO services.
The acquisition of Aero Controls will strengthen ATC Group’s in-house engineering and proprietary repair capabilities while creating targeted cross-selling opportunities. It will also enhance the company’s specialized component repair services across highly technical ATA chapters, such as avionics, electromechanical, pneumatics, transmissions, hydraulics and emergency equipment. Aero Controls will operate as a business unit of the ATC Group, with its existing team and leadership staying on to ensure growth, business continuity and integration.
“ACI’s deep engineering expertise in complex aircraft components and strong network of industry relationships are highly complementary to our existing MRO capabilities,” Jimmy Newman, CEO of ATC Group, said. “Coupled with the expanded geographic reach to the Pacific Northwest, a critical aviation hub, this transaction bolsters our value proposition as a one-stop-shop for blue-chip airline customers.”
John Titus, founder of Aero Controls, said, “Joining forces with ATC Group is a compelling opportunity to accelerate our growth while driving long-term value for our customers and our employees. We look forward to collaborating with ATC Group’s leadership team to continue delivering best-in-class repair solutions that set the standard for aerospace technologies.”
Following the company’s acquisition of PAS MRO, this transaction represents ATC Group’s second add-on since partnering with AE Industrial Partners in June 2025.
“When we partnered with the ATC Group, our goal was to build a best-in-class component MRO platform with the capabilities and reach to serve a broad and growing customer base,” Bryan McElwee, partner at AE Industrial Partners, said. “This transaction delivers on that vision — adding new capabilities, expanding the customers we can serve, and positioning the business for continued growth by leveraging the deep engineering expertise ACI brings to the platform.”
XLCS Partners acted as the exclusive M&A advisor to ACI.
