2023 Monitor Top Women in Equipment Finance: Alecia Kramer, Channel

Alecia Kramer, Vice President of Business Development, Channel

Alecia Kramer is a seasoned professional with a rich background and experiences that seamlessly transitioned her into roles of increasing responsibility. Her journey has been marked by a commitment to fostering partnerships, leveraging data-driven insights and a passion for continuous learning.

Having spent the majority of her career in the copier industry, Kramer initially focused on establishing and growing partnerships with independent dealers, later diversifying her experience by engaging with office technology manufacturers. Recognizing the need for differentiation in a space with comparable finance rates, Kramer quickly became adept at differentiating her business acumen and opportunities through meticulous research, curiosity and delivering on promises—a strategy that has consistently built trust throughout her 28 years in the equipment financing business.

Kramer is passionate about leveraging data to bring new insights to her partners’ businesses that foster stronger, more collaborative and efficient relationships. She takes tremendous care and really understands the unique value of investing time in research to create differentiated conversations and partnerships that set Channel apart.

“Alecia Kramer is an invaluable asset to Channel, and her impact on our business has been tremendous from the very start,” Cindy Fleck, managing director at Channel, says. “She embodies our brand and represents us with unwavering integrity, professionalism and genuine care for others. It’s what makes her one of the most conscious and competent individuals I’ve had the privilege to work with. Her unparalleled commitment to her word and meticulous follow-up and follow-through make her an exceptional example for others in our organization. It is my sincere pleasure to congratulate her on this recognition for which she is so deserving.”

Upon joining Channel, Kramer immersed herself in understanding the working capital product. Realizing the potential synergy between equipment finance and working capital, she championed the idea that partners not already offering both were missing a significant opportunity in the marketplace for deeper and more meaningful customer relationships. In 2023, her efforts resulted in three of her equipment finance company partners implementing working capital offerings.

An advocate for teamwork, Kramer attributes her success to the cohesive and collaborative teams she has had the privilege to work with throughout her career. Kramer recognizes the vital role of leadership, frontline team members, supporting departments, peers and mentors in driving long-term partnerships. It’s a philosophy that reflects her leadership style, emphasizing the collective effort needed to deliver on promises.

“At Channel, we talk often about the importance of understanding and connecting with our partners to build ‘win together’ relationships, and it’s so much more than a tagline; it’s a guiding principle,” Kramer says.

Outside of her professional commitments, Kramer actively engages in extracurricular activities, contributing to both the industry and her community. As a board member of the Marshall High School Golf Booster and volunteer for both the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Marshall Area Hockey Association, she exemplifies the power of commitment to community and industry beyond the boardroom.

Reflecting on her professional journey, Kramer sees her legacy as one of collaboration, innovation and positive impact. She emphasizes the importance of continuous learning, strategic differentiation and the power of effective teamwork in achieving long-term success.

“Trust your instincts, stay curious and remember— your team is your greatest asset. Building a successful career is not a solo venture but rather a collective effort. Embrace curiosity, be fearless in learning and surround yourself with a diverse network of mentors. Your unique perspective is an asset for making an industry difference.”
