2023 Monitor Top Women in Equipment Finance: Ashley Bradburn, Alliance Funding Group

Ashley Bradburn, Strategic Partnership Coordinator, Alliance Funding Group

Ashley Bradburn began her equipment finance and leasing career in early 2015 and has come to love the fast-paced and ever-evolving industry. She joined the industry as an entry level funding manager and expanded her role by volunteering for multiple company projects, taking initiative in process improvements and helping to facilitate open communication between multiple departments.

As a key member in building the strategic partnership group at Alliance Funding Group, Bradburn has made incredible contributions that have increased revenue and maintained partner relationships, both internally and externally. She helped to launch and support a new division within AFG, using her past skills to contribute to the design and implementation of new policies and procedures needed for this group. Her positive and bright personality have helped lay the groundwork for a rapidly growing and successful team.

Bradburn’s previous role in operations has given her a great foundation when it comes to third party originations and the lender relationship. While working with clients, vendors and credit, she learned many aspects of the equipment finance industry and used that knowledge to better understand broker and client needs. By being adaptable to challenges, staying open to new ideas and keeping her ‘all in’ attitude, she has created the opportunity to truly impact the development of the strategic partnership group at AFG.

“In a phrase, Ashley keeps it all in perspective,” Tyson Garrett, vice president of strategic partnerships at Alliance Funding Group, says. “Almost a year ago, Ashley transitioned from her role as a funding manager to business development in third party originations. In just that short amount of time, we’ve witnessed significant impact to our collective mission. She applies a high level of business acumen and ability to navigate the challenging scenarios that continually arise each day, and although this technical application is certainly an asset to our team and our originators, moreover, it is her positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to proactively problem solve that is simply invaluable. Finally, her integrity has been unquestionable. It provides immense peace of mind to have a team member who will always do right for those she encounters.”

Over the past year, Bradburn has continued to grow within the industry by attending conferences hosted by the National Equipment Finance Association, the American Association of Commercial Finance Brokers and the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association. Bradburn always looks forward to becoming more involved in the industry and making valuable connections at conferences. These new connections allow her to identify potential relationships with new partners, improve and streamline internal processes and continue to identify ways to improve results and partner engagement. With continuous career growth always on her mind, it’s not surprising that Bradburn’s personal mission is: “We can always make it better.”

While a mother of three young children, Bradburn has balanced her work and home life while continuing to advance her professional career from funding manager to senior funding manager and now to strategic partnership coordinator. Her next goals are to obtain the Certified Lease and Finance Professional designation and to join one of the many committees offered through association memberships.

“As a mother to a young daughter, I want to show her that we can create better opportunities and keep women empowerment at the forefront of industry leaders’ minds. I want young women getting into the workforce to know that they can pave their own way and have it all, whatever that may look like.”
