Lisa Thomason, Senior Vice President, Product Management Senior Manager, Wells Fargo Commercial Banking

Lisa Thomason is a product area owner for originations in the equipment finance and vendor finance product team for Wells Fargo Commercial Banking. The originations product area includes the applications that support credit application and underwriting, risk and originations workflow, document generation and deal closing.

Thomason joined Wells Fargo in 2016 and has more than 24 years of experience in financial services. Her prior roles include wholesale operations initiatives leader for Wells Fargo Commercial Capital and the head of operations for equipment finance. Thomason is an experienced leader who has achieved success in building and motivating dynamic teams. She has extensive domain expertise in financial services operations, business integration and process management.

Thomason has spent the last three years on the commercial banking diversity, equity and inclusion council, where she focuses on diverse representation, including increasing visibility for opportunities open to both internal employees through resource networks as well as external talent through DE&I committee networks. Thomason is passionate about coaching and mentoring to support career growth and internal mobility at Wells Fargo.

Throughout the past year, Wells Fargo has undergone a major, enterprise-wide transformation by enlisting the agile methodology project management framework. Thomason has not only embraced this culture change from project-based to product-based management, but she has also taken on a challenging new leadership role by joining the newly formed Wells Fargo Equipment Finance/Vendor Finance product team as the product area leader for originations. In this new position, her drive to innovate and enhance has led to many successes, including organizing a team from the ground up to support the originations product area, concentrating on key skillsets and expertise to best align coverage. Thomason has overseen significant aspects of the agile framework rollout, such as managing certification of the equipment finance/vendor finance product as well as leading creation of products.

Thomason has also had a critical hand in improving upon Wells Fargo’s capabilities by collaborating closely with different groups and programs across the company. For example, Thomason worked alongside Wells Fargo’s technology delivery department and its leads this past year to develop a hybrid planning model.

Thomason consistently builds strong relationships based on trust. She regularly infuses her passion for building upon business processes and improving integration into the Wells Fargo culture, inspiring others to do the same. Her transparent and communicative approach to leadership allows her to closely examine the circumstances of any given situation by collecting perspectives, thoughts and attitudes from those around her and looking at issues and their solutions through the lens of both her customers and her colleagues.

Thomason earned her Bachelor of Science in business administration from Columbia College and currently resides in Moberly, MO with her husband and two sons.
