Blake Anderson, Amur Equipment Finance – 2023 NextGen 40 Under 40 List

Blake Anderson, Assistant Vice President, Relationship Management, Amur Equipment Finance

Blake Anderson, who was recently promoted to assistant vice president of relationship management at Amur Equipment Finance, is on the move with no plans of slowing down anytime soon. Anderson, who focuses on building relationships throughout Amur’s third-party origination channel — which helps small businesses access equipment-essential funds and devise strategies designed to grow those businesses — also obtained their Certified Lease & Finance Professional designation to add more value and expertise to their knowledge base. This reflects Amur’s commitment to building a team that’s aligned and executing on core values. Anderson believes Amur’s culture, values and people make it a premier equipment finance operation. Amur understands having an engaged, energized and motivated team ultimately makes the company stronger and more poised for long-term success.

“We have experienced substantial growth since 2020, and I couldn’t be prouder of what the Amur team has accomplished in our pursuit of excellence,” Anderson says, “I also love to hone my skills and stay active in the industry by staying in tune with industry events, like NEFA and AACFB, multiple times a year to connect with leading equipment finance peers and mentors.”

Anderson’s approach to leadership is a combination of common sense and a straight-talk approach, prizing honesty, understanding and rapport building with people in any given situation. Working side-by-side with others gives Anderson inspiration and motivation, while helping employees arrive at conclusions rather than problem solving for them is an integral part of how Anderson approaches leadership. Keeping an open mind and providing the opportunity to objectively and empathetically examine a situation is paramount to how Anderson manages their role at Amur. “I think handling mental health and other challenges requires an open mind and willingness to overcome any given obstacle. You must invest the time to clearly understand the situation before you can develop a strategy for moving forward successfully,” Anderson says.
