Tatum Noreen grew up playing sports, which instilled numerous success and leadership fundamentals within her at an early age. She calls on these principles in her approach to managing a team many years later. To her, success takes discipline, resilience, self-motivation and teamwork, but a successful leader requires additional qualities, such as humility, which enable them to acknowledge their limitations, seek input from others and encourage a collaborative environment. Noreen enjoys the success of others and believes putting aside her pride creates a supportive culture where she can prioritize the growth and achievements of team members. Noreen also believes being a good listener, understanding different perspectives and committing to a lifetime of learning is vital.
As an inside sales manager for Oakmont Capital Services, Noreen has had a passion for the equipment finance industry since she began her career in 2015. She started as a credit analyst, and six months later, she transitioned into sales, focusing on building relationships with current customers and earning their future business. After joining Oakmont in 2021, Noreen helped create and develop a team focused on customer retention.
“My passion for the industry stems from watching our customers grow their businesses year after year and achieve success knowing our industry played a small part,” Noreen says, noting that she enjoys experimenting with different strategies and collaborating with internal departments so her team can best utilize their time, available tools and resources to reach their customers in the most effective and efficient ways.
Feeling fortunate to work for a company that promotes a healthy work-life balance, Noreen believes that personal mindfulness is equally essential.
“I think this is a struggle, particularly for highly motivated individuals, especially when they genuinely love their job,” Noreen says. “But finding the right company for me, with a supportive culture, has made a significant difference in finding a healthier balance.”
