Tyler Rowland, McKenzie Credit Group – 2023 NextGen 40 Under 40 List

Tyler Rowland, National Sales Manager, McKenzie Credit Group

Tyler Rowland started his career at Professional Credit. In 2018, he was tasked by the CEO to spearhead the sales department at McKenzie Credit Group, where his position was in a more traditional in-person office setting. By the end of 2019, he was lucky enough to start working full-time remotely. Transitioning to remote work has allowed him to maximize his productivity both personally and professionally. Rowland’s day-to-day life tasks have been far less taxing than they were when he was in the office. Many factors affect this, such as the more than 30-minute commute time he saves daily. “Ultimately, fulfillment in my daily routine has increased my sales acumen exponentially and has allowed me to create more meaningful long-term clients,” Rowland says.

Over his five-year career as a sales professional specializing in commercial loan financing within the transportation community, Rowland has traveled nationwide to visit hundreds of brokerages and dealers and to represent McKenzie Credit at tradeshows, conventions and luncheons. He is a proud member of the National Equipment Finance Association, Used Truck Association and the American Association of Commercial Finance Brokers.

Rowland calls golf the perfect hobby for a salesman because it teaches life lessons while providing top-notch networking opportunities. “You can make the most incredible shot and it will bounce off the ground into an awful position,” Rowland says. “Other times you may hit a pitiful shot and it hits a tree and goes down the middle of the fairway. This is very representative of sales. At times, the prospects that you pour effort into never materialize. Conversely, at times top tier clients fall right into your lap. Playing golf has taught me to keep my head down and to stay consistent with what I can control, and ultimately good things will follow.”
